Thank you for posting this. I inherited my Grandmother's pfaff and there's a few feet that are not in the manual that came with it.

Ideas

The sewing machine is an impressive piece of technology. Unfortunately, many people consider all but the newest models to be outdated, irrelevant junk. However, older machines are still practical and highly useful tools.

Obtaining, maintaing, and using them efficiently requires accurate information and details that, for me, have been difficult to find. That information should be more accessible. I'm putting it here.

I'm also frustrated by modern sewing's focus on women, fashion, and quilting. I want to make outdoor gear, garage items, and reuse high quality materials and fabric from clothes or whatever else.

None of this has been an easy or quick process. I'd like to spare others any similar frustration. Hopefully, this helps. Feel free to comment or question however you like.

General Information

About/Introduction - To me, sewing is one of the most under appreciated skills I've encountered. Practical, economical, and in a pinch, almost essential. The same can be said of the old sewing machines. These are also areas where I've had the a difficult time finding accurate and useful information. Hopefully this can save someone a little frustration.

Acknowledgements - A dedicated group of hardcore quilters, sewers, and crafters got me started. Their tools and coaching gave me the confidence necessary. Their patience and advice kept me going. It may be possible to learn to sew by watching youtube videos and reading books, but it is 1000x faster and more effective when you have someone to help you. To me, these ladies are simply amazing. And despite being 20-30 years older, incredibly fun to be around.
